Her graveside service will be Friday, April 27, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington, Pastor Ed Herald officiating. There will be no visitation. East Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement.
She was born May 8, 1914 in Bloomington, a daughter of William C. and Rachel Margarite “Maggie” Fithian Peifer. She married the love of her life, Stanley J. Swick, Sr. November 8, 1931. He passed away May 31, 1980.
Surviving are her son Stanley (Judy) Swick, Jr, 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 31 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her loving family friend, Marilyn Mays. She was preceded in death by her parents, three children, Mary Lamb, Richard (Dick) Swick, and Beverly (Betty) Gambrel, five brothers, and two sisters.
Helen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She retired as manager from Woolworth’s Department Store in 1980 after 33 years. She continued to devote her life to her family. She loved to tend to her flowers and yard work. She strived to maintain her health and home, and was proud doing so. She loved being with her family and reminiscing about her life and memories. She was loved by many and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
