

Frank was born on September 3, 1938, in Chicago, the son of Frank W. and Margaret Hills Thomson. He married Carol Drenth on June 23, 1961, in Chicago. She survives.
Also surviving are their daughters, June (Roy) Becker of Palatine; Julie (Brad) Burns of Bloomington; and Heather (Bob) Bronkhorst of Bloomington; eight grandchildren, Jonathan, and Jeremy Becker; Joshua, Matthew, and Jessica Burns; Rachel, David, and Rebecca Bronkhorst; a brother, William (Gloria) Thomson of Dyer, IN; and a sister, Sandy (Ron) Thomson Conrad of Bloomington. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Frank was a lifetime educator in a variety of school districts in the Chicago area, serving as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. You could often find him on the Constitution Trail biking or running. He was a member of Eastview Christian Church faithfully serving in the Kidsview and Heritage Health ministries. Frank was a gifted communicator and had a way of encouraging and affirming those whose lives he touched. His life was a great testimony to the changing power of Jesus Christ.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Eastview Christian Church, Normal. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017 and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Eastview Christian Church. Burial will follow the service in East Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eastview Christian Church, Normal.
