Eleanor was born in Carlock, Illinois on June 18, 1934. She spent most of her childhood in Ellsworth, Illinois and loved cheerleading, music and playing the piano. She attended Eureka College and was a member of the Delta Delta Pi sorority. Never one for playing sports, she always enjoyed supporting her local sports teams and the interests of her children and grandchildren. In her adult years, Eleanor loved interior decorating, politics, and the latest fashions. The times she enjoyed the most were being with family on special trips, holidays, and quality time with her grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and loved a good laugh.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Debra) Stromberger; daughter, Jill (Greg) Parkhurst; four grandchildren, Jeffrey (Renee) Stromberger, Lindsey (Ryan) Bradshaw, Justin (Keshia) Parkhurst and Patrick (Megan) Parkhurst; and five great-grandchildren, Jacob Stromberger, Finley Parkhurst, Maylee Parkhurst, Chloe Parkhurst and Crew Parkhurst.
Eleanor or “Nonie” to many, was preceded in death by her parents, Robert W. and Leota B. (Mallory) Gaddis; a brother, Robert M. Gaddis; a sister, Marilyn A. Schnuck and a dear friend, Carl Rademaker.
Private services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington, IL. Arrangements are through East Lawn Funeral Home.
