Edwin was born August 12, 1938, in Bloomington, the son of Nolan and Velma “Marie” Randolph White. He married Alyce Nicolaysen on September 7, 1973, in Downs. She survives.
Also surviving are their children, Julianna (Bart Jackman) Schaubert of Effingham, William (Debra) White of Downs, and Derek (Amber) White of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Nickolas and Adrianna Schaubert, and Kaiden White; two brothers, E.D. “Bill” White of Normal; and Wilmer (Faye) White of California; two sisters, Launa N. Kidwell of Lake Forest, IL; and Judy Richards of Bloomington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepson, Wesley Thomas Mayfield; a sister, Sandra Gordacan; and a brother, Gary White.
Edwin owned Ottis Electic Motors for almost 20 years. He worked as an electrician IBEW 197. He was a collector of antique cars and Chrysler Mopar products. He was a member of the McLean County Antique Automobile Club. He was a jack of all trades and even restored many homes and worked on numerous vehicles.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 at Hopewell Cemetery, Downs. A luncheon will follow the graveside service at the United Methodist Church, Downs.
