David was born September 4, 1935, in Klamath Falls, Oregon to Earl Lester and Averil (Simpson) Ward. He married the love of his life, Bonnie Blanche Thornton on December 18, 1955.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Bonnie; two children, Steve (Peggy) Ward of Bloomington, IL and Cindi Fowler of Washougal, WA; three grandchildren, Eric (Jamie) Fowler of Port Orchard, WA, Amy (Allen) Blaisdell of Washougal, WA and Allison Ward of Chicago, IL; five great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Fowler, Lukin Fowler, London Fowler, Lilly Blaisdell and Hunter Blaisdell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Ryan Ward.
