David Wayne Hale, 71, of Bloomington passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Heritage Health in Normal with his wife and son by his side. He was born May 21, 1952 in Bloomington, to Edgar Wayne and Twyla Irene (Campbell) Hale and married the love of his life, Melinda Hanover on March 13, 1987 in Bloomington.
Dave worked at Steak ‘N Shake for several years. He was dedicated and a hard worker, working overtime until a decline in health prevented him from working there any longer. Dave loved spending time with his family and friends in their homes, in church, and at Steak ‘N Shake. He enjoyed camping with family, being a Cub and Boy Scout leader, going for a drive, and enjoying scenery as well as watching western shows and movies. Dave was a member of Victory Church in Bloomington.
Dave is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Melinda; son, Brandon (Samantha) Hale; mother, Twyla Terven; and siblings, Douglas (Becki) Hale, Nancy (Scott) Coffinger, and Michael Terven.
He is preceded in death by his father, Edgar Wayne Hale; and 2 brothers, Emery Dean Hale, and Dennis Franklin Hale.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., with a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Entombment will follow services at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.
