Charles M Schott

Charles was born February 2, 1959 to Charles and Rita (Lynch) Schott. He was a 1977 graduate of Central Catholic High School. Chuck married the love of his life, Polly Herr on June 2, 1979 in Bloomington.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Polly; daughter, Katie, and granddaughter Morgan all of Normal, as well as four siblings, Peggy (Doug) Freud of Chicago, Donna Schott of Cary IL, Robert Schott of San Antonio, TX, and John Schott of Fort McCoy, FL.

He was proceed in death by his parents; sister, Therese; daughter, Sarah; and his beloved dog, Murphy.

Chuck was an amazing woodworker and handyman. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t or wouldn’t try to do. While Chuck lost his ability to be physically active almost 15 years ago, he definitely didn’t let that get him down. From the “hey man” greetings walking into the kitchen, to him stealing cookies when he thought he was being “quiet” in his wheelchair or shopping online for “good deals”, there was never a dull moment while he was here. He filled our lives with laughter, quick wit, and the best memories that we will cherish forever. The void in our hearts is immense and we will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 at 1pm at East Lawn Funeral Home, with a celebration of life immediately following the service at 2:30pm at Merna Tap.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois.
