He was born on September 26, 1927 in Farmer City, son of Russell and Gina Hall Meyers. He married Margaret Evans on June 28, 1948 in Piggott, AR, she preceded him in death on March 14, 2011. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah (Robert) Craig of Mesquite, TX and Kimberley (Ray) Curry of Minier; five sons, Jeffrey (Joan) Meyers of Normal, Danny (Charlotte) Meyers of Bloomington, Brian Meyers of Normal, Greg (Wendy) Meyers of Bloomington and Curt (Jean) Meyers of Downs; 10 grandchildren, Aaron Craig, Justin, Nicole, Adam, Joshua, Jacob and Mikayla Meyers, Sara Ditchen, Alexa Curry and Joseph King; eight great-grandchildren, Robert Craig, Emma, Owen and Ian Meyers, and Chase, Olivia, Sydney Ditchen and Ruby Harr. Also surviving are four sisters, Mary Ann (Wayne) Copley and Linda Gregorski, both of Florida, Sandy (Don) Goodin of Manito and Judy (Lowell) Briggs of Pekin.
Tink was a United States World War II Navy Veteran. He was also a member of VFW Post #454 and American Legion Post #56.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Bloomington Lodge #43, Scottish Rites Temple and a member of Park United Methodist Church in Bloomington.
Tink was an electrician and worked for IBEW (Illinois Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) Local #197 since 1966, retiring in 1988. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. Visitation will begin two hours prior to services and Masonic services will be held at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bloomington.
