She was born August 11, 1929, in Bloomington, IL, the daughter of Harry and Pansy (Rouse) Girtin. She married Wayne Miller on January 31, 1948 in Normal. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2024 in Normal.
Betty was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Linda Oliver; one granddaughter, Holly Karr; two sisters and a brother.
Surviving are her three children, Barbara Karr, Larry Miller, and Randy (Renee) Miller; son-in-law, Ken (Patty) Oliver; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, and sister, Phyllis Benson.
Betty helped Wayne every day of their life together in operating their farm near Carlock. She enjoyed driving and showing ponies with him at parades and fairs.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was a member of the Carlock Mennonite Church.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Arc and Transitions Hospice for their gentle, loving care of Betty and Wayne in their final days together.
A private funeral will be held at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington with burial to follow next to Wayne at Kaufman Cemetery near Hudson.
Memorials are suggested to the Carlock Mennonite Church or American Cancer Society.
