Alice was born May 8, 1935, in Arrowsmith, the daughter of Everett Frank and LauraBelle Nancy (Schwartz) Butler. She married Bill Coit on November 1, 1953. Later in life she married Don Hart on July 23, 1983
Surviving are children, Daniel (Christy) Coit of DeWitt; and Michael (Donna) Coit of Normal; six grandchildren, Michelle Blake of MD; Daniel Coit II of Riverton; Krisi (Nathan) Beard of Lincoln; Mike (Mary) Palm of GlenElyn; Nicole (Larry) Wilson of Farmer City; and Zoie Coit of Normal; ten great-grandchildren, Jadyn, Courtney, Michaela, Billy, Blake, Madeline, Michael, Brayden, Kian, and Carsen; two sisters, Betty (Paul) Hall; and Linda Persons; and a brother, Paul "Big Bud" (Carol) Butler. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a son, Randy Coit; four brothers, Everett Butler Jr; Donald Butler; Raymond Butler; and Delmar "Little Bud" Butler .
Alice worked for Bloomington Offset, as a bindery worker for 34 years. Alice enjoyed shopping, knitting, crocheting, and playing basketball, especially the game “HORSE”. She also enjoyed riding bikes to Towanda, stock car races, camping and family vacations. Her favorite memories were watching her children graduate. She also dearly loved her dogs, Molly and Candy.
Per Alice’s wishes, cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 at East Lawn Funeral Home. Sharing of Memories will take place two hours prior to the service. Burial will take place after the service at East Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Comprehensive Care Unit, St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington or the Leroy Ambulance.
