My dearest mother, Sally Greene,
I know that you have a birthday tomorrow, 9/13/1948 and your are turning the big "75" years old.  I just want you to know that although you are not here physically, you are here spiritually and I feel your presence at times.  I want to wish you the happiest heavenly birthday ever!! Know that your kids are down here missing you so very much.  I hate that you are not here in my life, but I also know that this was out of my control.  I LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH AND I WILL NEVER LET YOUR MEMORY GO.

My mother, loving on her grandson. Even throughout her pain she would do her best to hold, interact, or kiss him. These are memories I will share with him when he gets older. This was the day mom meet my husband, they talked for a bit, he cooked for us, and my mom and I healed together. Thank you mom for loving me through our differences. A true reflection of unconditional love. 

In this photo me and my cousin Ashlee was sitting on my mom's mother, meme. I remember my mom always dropping me off at my grandmother's house, and her watching me. She would make me cream of wheat with a dash of milk and shake of sugar. My grandma was doing one of three things, reading her Bible with her magnify glass, pruning her garden, or in her big chair watching Oprah or her soaps. My mom would clean my grandma's house, like dusting, sweeping,  throwing out old food in her fridge, etc... Reminds me of when I would surprise mom with a newly organized and clean house when she came back from her trips.

I remember trying to get my mom to do the photoshoot by herself, but she wasn't feeling confident, so I told her let's do it together. This is one of my favorite photographs with my mom. My God dad mike was the photographer for my sister Tonya's birthday party.

This was my mother's birthday celebration. She got on the dance floor and danced with all of us. I remember she got on the dance floor and we all went up there giving her money. My mom felt like a queen!

I remember feeling so safe in my mom's arms. My mom would protect my heart from every unkind word. She knew how damaging it would be to me. She wasn't afraid to speak up for me.

Dear Grandma, 

Thank you for your love, laughs and comfort.  Your strength, hard work and determination will be remembered and admired forever.  Such a beautiful soul inside and out.  We love you
