pops was a great man and i thank him for everything he's done for me and my daughters. he was well loved and respected. he wasn't my dad but he definantly was my pops. he will truly be missed and neer forgotten .

this man right here has been a big part of my life for the last 23 years and even before i married into the family. i have know him since i was a young kid. always saw him around the negibor hood. he was always looking out for us kids and we always called him POPS. he was such a great person and soul. he gave everything to anyone who needed help or even advice. not only was he pops but he was my dad. he took me and my family in like as if we were his the whole time. Every day hey kiddo how you doing. hows your day, oh did you know that its going to rain today you better wear a sweater. always there for me when i just needed someone to tell me good morning or have a good day or just give me words of strength or encouragement. just to keep on going and no that it was going to be ok. he had so much joy and love in his heart. sometimes you could not tell but he was the sweetest man ever. he showed me what it was to have a real dad in my life when mine was absent. he was always there to show me what real love was. he will never be forgotten. that man has been there for me through the good times and hard times to show me that no matter what we all still love each other.  i am proud to have been able to spend as much time with him as i did. not just proud but truly blessed.. yes super man that he is and will always be. his cape will still fly high in my eyes.

Pops was an amazing man who never complained about the invasion of kids that happened every weekend.  My favorite memories happened at the bowling alley.  I was an awkward young left handed bowler with a heck of a hook. Coach after coach tried desperately to get me to throw the ball straight.  Pops watched quietly,  then one day he suggested I move over and told me to aim for a certain mark.  It worked.  I started throwing strikes without giving up my hook.  I even was a finalist in a scholarship tournament.  That said a lot about the man he was.  He never tried to change us,  just have some quiet guidance to help us succeed.  
He also is responsible for my Love of the smell of good pipe.

I have been trying so hard to find the words to write this. How do you pick a memory when you had a lifetime of memories. He was so much larger than life when I was a girl. He was my hero. He took on a tribe and never blinked. He always did his best and was my dad. Always . We could never have asked for a better man to be our father grandfather and best friend. My dad never knew a stranger. He made friends wherever he went. He seemed gruff at times but my dad was a big softy. I guess some of my most favorite memories are of him always saying he couldn't stand cats.. haha he would cuss out the cats when anyone was looking but we would always catch him petting the animals and talking to them when no one was looking :) . Then one time I had a parakeet. It started out as my bird but one day I was cleaning her cage and she was hanging out in the living room on one of the kids plastic ponys.. next to Pops chair. Next thing I know he is talking to that silly bird and she jumped up on his hat and that was it. That bird and her cage stayed in the living room with him until she died. He would never let us get another bird. He spent so much time with the grandkids especially when they were little he would put them in the stroller and they would be gone for hours. He spent time showing them all so much when they were little. Christmas was his favorite holiday. His joy was figuring out the crazy list mother had made for who got what.. he loved taking poloroid pictures of events. He was always the man behind the camera more than in front. When I was so sick as a child with spinal meningitis he was the one who carried me through the hospital.. who sat holding me as I was too weak to even sit up and who sat with me through multiple spinal taps. He was my strength. I wasn't always the best daughter but I loved him more than any man in this world. He was and always will be My Dad, my hero and the best Pops in the world. He will be missed more than he probably ever knew. 

Grandpa was so amazing. I always say he was my Superman. No matter what was going on he always made me feel loved. One of the things that I adored was watching him and Grandma together the way he loved her was so sweet, and I have always wanted to be loved like that. When I was little he had this old van that had a table in it and I loved playing in it while he tinkered on it. He was always tinkering with something and kept himself busy. I used to love when I would walk in the house and he would be in his chair with his pipe. The smell of pipe tabaco bring back so many fond memories. There are not enough words to describe what an incredible man he was. All the advice, stories he told, him singing, sharing doughnuts, loving his family he will forever hold a very dear place in my heart. Grandpa I love you!

You will forever be an amazing example of what a man should be. You were a great grandfather, always supportive and caring. The memories I have with you, I will forever cherish. I used to steal your donuts and you’d come in my room and give me that look and we would just laugh, you eventually just got used to it and allowed it. you’d always bring me these little things that you found that you think I’d like. If anyone knows you they knew you kept EVERYTHING. You’d always be there to take me to school when no one else could , my favorite thing is when I got home and you’d be in your chair and would always tell me “hi kiddo how was school”. I wish we danced more, you always told me I was your favorite dance partner because grandma never let you lead and I did. I’ll miss the times that were silent and just watching the trees blow in the wind.. I’ll miss the stories you’d tell about the war .. even the bad parts. I’ll miss when I’d clean I’d put on your favorite songs just so I could hear you sing even tho you thought no one was listening. I’ll miss the man that never stopped loving me .. and never failed to ask me how I was  doing.  I’ll miss my grandpa , I will forever miss you .. I love you old man 🤍

O there are not enough words in the world to describe how amazing pops was. He was such a wonderful man, I am forever grateful to have had the pleasure of sharing so many years with him in my life. Countless memories together, conversation we have had I will always cherish in my heart forever. His kind words with years of wisdom I will always remember. I loved him dearly. Pops he was a funny man he’d call me just to tell me what the weather was going to be like and he was always right about it lol, he would always tell  me and the kids to be safe because it was not safe for us to be driving at night he was always thinking about others. He always remember my birthday from as far as I could remember he’d make sure to call me or when he saw me make sure to tell me happy birthday kiddo❤️❤️  My kids were blessed to have a grandpa like him he always took time out of his life to talk to them or play around with them you could always count on pops to brighten the day❤️❤️He will be forever missed ❤️❤️I love you pops❤️❤️

I remember Pops as a cool grandpa always trying to get me to smile my nickname for him was smiley he love to see me smile he would tell me don’t ever lose that smile kiddo. I enjoyed the time with Pops especially when he would  sing happy birthday to me.  I’m going to miss him very much I love you pops

Pops was a wonderful man he was so funny to be around and always joking with us one thing that I remember most about Pops is that he always had a gift for me and that gift was always socks I love the socks lol. The stories that Pops told were the best he was wise with years of wisdom  he will be truly missed I love you Pops

Thank you Elliott family for sharing this wonderful man with me. It has been an honor to know Bob . His caring and thoughtful ways his unconditional love will always be remembered.  He has been like a second father to me.  He will be missed more than words can express. I will always remember him walking up my driveway and saying Hi Kiddo how are you? and then before you knew it he would say got to run many things to do busy busy busy. He would wink his eye at me and say love you guy's  and speed of in his van.  My heart is heavy because he has left us but I find comfort in knowing he is with his sweetheart  Marty once again.
