Richard was born in Brooklyn, New York. While still a baby he and his parents Otto and Maria Celestino, moved to California. Richard spent most of his school years in the Sacramento area of California. Eventually they settled in southern California. Richard lived there until he enlisted in the US Navy in 1959 and served three years on the ammunition ship the U.S.S. Pyro. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Richard began his career with the U.S. postal service in 1969. Until he retired in the year 2000. Richard and Linda married in 1970 and raised their family in Garden Grove and later in Jurupa Valley. He had four children and ten grandchildren and spent his retirement years being a doting husband and a caring and loving father and grandfather. He was always there for all of us. He took care of his family through thick and thin, good and bad. He enjoyed his H.O. scale model trains, coin collecting, stamp collecting, taking his children to watch the real trains at Cajon Pass, ninth street, Second St. He also liked to go on picnics, and go fishing, playing cribbage, poker, rummy and watching “Old TV” on antenna TV.
We all miss you so much Richard. We will love you beyond forever.
