I’m Andrea Davis, I was one of Matthews best friends, along with our friend group Nikki and Mikey.. I live in Kentucky sadly so I never got the chance to make it to the funeral or services so I will say what I need to here.. 

Matt was a beautiful soul, probably one of the nicest people I had truly ever gotten to meet. From the day I met him he became instantly like a brother to me and it was nothing but love. Since I live quite far away I only ever got to be with him over the phone or Xbox and we always planned to meet whenever I came to cali. He was always there for me when needed and I, for him if needed and that was just something I couldn’t ever give someone else credit for. He was there for me many times when no one else was.. and I’ll always remember that for the rest of my life. I miss you so much Matt, and I wish nothing but the best for your family and your fur baby Potato.. gone too soon but Heaven was blessed with an Angel, and for that I hope you’re living free and warm and loved up there and watching down on all of us. Grace us with your light, and shine on us in times of darkness. Your love will forever live on inside of us and I know that while you may not be physically here I know you’re still here with us spiritually, so for that I’ll continue to cherish you, and I’ll never forget you. I love you, Matt… and it aches me to say goodbye, but this isn’t the last goodbye, we shall meet again. My prayers and blessings to your family and thank you for raising such a wonderful son.

Matthew was a true blessing on my life and others as well. I was lucky to call him my friend, all I wish was that we could’ve been closer. This is the only picture I have with him, we ate at buffalo wild wings or how he called it “BDubs”, I always call it that now. We played video games together, he was so funny. He even invited me to his 21st birthday party, which made me so happy because I don’t get invited to things a lot and I had fun. He always knew how to have a fun time and make everyone feel included 100%. He was a kind, gentle soul. He was never mean to me, he brought joy and happiness. I will miss him dearly I had no idea he’d be taken from us so soon. I wish we could’ve had a lot more memories together you were an Angel on Earth. I will always remember you. Thank you for being apart of my life. 

Although it's a sad occasion, it's heartwarming to see cousins coming together and finding comfort in each other's company at their cousin's funeral. Rest in peace to their beloved cousin.

The first time I met Matt I was in 7th grade .My sister introduced us at a high-school football game. It started raining out of nowhere and we saw a hot chocolate stand so we went to grab some .Once we got our hot chocolate the rain ended up diluting it .We we’re so mad but we drank it anyways cuz we didn’t want to waste our 50 cents 🥲. After that we started to really get to know each-other we’d go to the pool in the summer order a pizza play video games or end the night off with a movie sometimes go to B-dubs he loved B-Dubs.I’m grateful for getting a chance to know you and meeting your family. You we’re so kind,thoughtful ,and funny.We all miss you very much Matt thank you for being a part of my life I know your resting up there in the big clouds of heaven watching over us may your beautiful soul Rest In Peace we’ll never forget you

Que Dios te tenga en su santa gloria, esta noticia fue muy impactante el saber que te nos fuiste, aún eras un niño y te faltaba mucho por vivir, te conocí hace poco en California y me lleve una buena imagen tuya aparte de lo guapo , grande todo un hombre, pero  Dios solo sabe sus planes,  es una noticia que me movió mucho por que yo también tengo hijos y precisamente uno de tu edad y no me imagino el dolor que sienten  tus padres con tu partida, yo  me volvería loca! al saber que algo les pasará a mis hijos, pero se que Dios les va dar esa fortaleza para seguir adelante con tus hermanos y tú estarás cuidando de ellos desde allá arriba serás su ángel! Que Dios te bendiga y nos  estaremos viendo nuevamente en la otra vida…

It’s hard to believe that you’re gone Primo. I couldn’t even believe that it was true when I heard. You were brought to heaven too soon. You always gave the best hugs and loved everyone. Mathew mi niño you left us far too early, you were gone before we knew it and only God knows why!! Our hearts are broken to lose you, full of pain!! but you did not go alone because part of us went with you that day God took you home!! I can’t believe that this is real that you are no longer with us, reality is we know its true! But we still cant believe it! now all we have are those special memories of you, your happiness, love and those big teddy bear hugs full of love were the most wonderful experiences to everyone who met you!! I wish I could see you one more time, come walking trough the door but I know that is impossible, the family chain is broken again and you will never been forgotten as your cousin and grandpa and nothing seems the same but as God takes us one by one the family chain will link again our heart is broken because we can’t understand why someone so precious had to die! I know someday I will see you again!! in my heart I will always hold you close and keep you safe. To have you as my nephew was the most beautiful gift to have!! I will miss you so much my Mathew! I just pray to God to give us the strength because knowing that we will not be able to see you again here on earth has put our hearts sad and broken. 

When I’ve first heard about matthew I didn’t believe it when the officers told my parents I thought 💭 it was a bad dream that happened but when my brother went to go see how the car and got the things Matthew had in the car that’s where I knew it wasn’t a bad dream and seeing his phone made me believe it more I loved 🥰 him more than anything. Matthew was the first person I’ve told about my life and he would always give me advice about what I’ve told him I’ve also asked questions about things he was my safe space I would always tell him what I was doing, feeling and other stuff. He would always involve me with his friends and made me feel like his friends were also mine I’ve gotten close with his friends he would always introduce me to them. He made me feel always loved by him he always took me to places to get things for school or for myself he also took me to go somewhere with my friends. When we argue we always make up by saying I love you ❤️ and hugs 🫂 we would always forgive each other we wouldn’t be mad a each other for days it would be in the moment and after a few hours or minutes we would always say sorry. I’ll never forget how he would always take me to the pool and watch movies, play video games and play tag, hide-n-go seek at his friends house or in our house. I’m thankful that I got him as a brother he always lights 💡up I the room he was in he made me laugh so much nobody could copy his laughs and he gave the famous bear 🐻 hugs he would also make me play with his friends and told me to play on the switch of his he told me to make an account so I could play with them. He always included me he never excluded me I would always help him with things and he would always help me too he also told me about his life he wasn’t always closed off with me. I love you Matthew ❤️💜 I will still love you it’s sad that you won’t get to see me get my license 🪪 and graduate 👩‍🎓 high school 🏫 or go to Sammy’s wedding 💒 it’s sad you won’t see our future with you RIP Matthew 🕊️

I’ll never forget how his laughs and his bear 🐻 hugs were nobody can ever match his laugh he and my other brother Sammy took care of me and my other cousins. When he would always let me hangout with his friends and would always take me to the pool and his friends house he made me feel included. He is the best brother I’ve ever met he was the best person Matthew would always give me advice when ever I told him something about me he was the first person I’ve told I’ve talked to him about school, people and he would always take me to places and would always make up after we argue and give me hugs 🫂 and I would always say sorry to him about the stuff we said to each other he made me feel very loved 🥰 I would always say bye and I love you 💕 in the mornings when I went to school and he was awake and always say goodnight 🌙  and tell him to be careful when he was going to work.

Matty you always knew how to bring a smile on my face and knew how to make me feel better! You were my best friend and u always made work 10X funnier! Matty was a huge part of my life for a long time. We met in 8th grade and he was the only guy I ever felt completely safe and comfortable talking to. He made everyone feel that way. We had lunch in high school almost everyday as a group under the same tree. After high school, we went to RCC together and he and Ally would come over my house before school to eat snacks and watch South Park and STILL wanted to hangout after school. When I went through heartbreaks, Matty was there for me. He would pick me up and we’d talk and cry together for hours. When I needed a job, he helped me get one at Staters with him. He helped me get out of my shell and I will always be indebted to him for that. We spent almost every single weekend together either at his house or mine laughing, singing, eating, and enjoying a drink. We had his 21st birthday party at my house, my mom and grandma helped him out with it. They thought he was a sweet boy. He was so cute about his party decorations. I owe him so much, he was such a blessing to me. Thank you Matty, for being one of my best friends for as long as you could’ve. I’m praying that you rest in heavenly peace my friend. I love you Matt. 🤍

This was our all girls Halloween party, but matt was invited because we couldn't imagine the night without him. He was wearing the white claw costume. He was so proud of it and it brought everybody joy, laughter, and happiness just like he did. He was very loved and a comfort person to many of us. I miss him so much 

we went out for a fun night out and ended up at a karaoke place. We spent the night singing along to other people songs until we got the courage to go on stage and sing a Party In the U.S.A., a song that matt chose. Not only did Matt give me courage. He also inspired me in many other ways, such as being a genuine and compassionate person. He existence will always inspire me to be kind and positive like he was. 

I was so grateful to share my birthday celebration with Matt. We all carved pumpkins together and listen to Lana Del Rey. We were all very tired, trying to scoop out the seeds so this was him looking defeated after.

I truly cannot believe this news, I really can't. 
Thank you for being in my life and being such a kind person. You truly had the softest heart since the beginning. I have absolutely nothing but fond memories of playing together as kids all day and night. I wish we could have had another game of hide and seek again. 
Though we weren't related by blood, you were family. I'm grateful to have known you and grow up with you.
I cannot imagine how much your family misses you and have been doing. I've kept you all in my prayers. 
My condolences to your parents, and all who've been graced with your presence in this lifetime.

I’m so glad to have had you in my life when I did. I remember being scared to start school and overhearing you and I had the same first period. I just remembered we had gone to the same elementary so I walked over and asked if we could go to class together and since then you became my friend.  You were always so goofy and I loved the way everyone was always so comfortable around you.

This is one of those incidents where you really can’t believe it ever happened, wondering if maybe tomorrow someone will say it was all fake. 💔 I met Matty my freshman year of high school & we shared so many laughs together. We shared the same music & even friends. Anytime I was feeling down I always asked for him to hug & hold me & he would, for as long as I needed. His hugs were the best, always made me feel loved. He always lit up the room, when he’d walk into class it was like “Matty!!!” everyone was excited. He will always be so loved, he has a special place in my heart. 🖤 I’ll never forget when I had gotten into an altercation at school & he immediately ran to me, picked me up & threw me over his shoulder & took me to class, I sat down & had a panic attack & he comforted me until I was okay. He was one of the realest people i knew, never switched up on me, never judged me. It's hard to find people like Matty. Rest in peace friend, until we meet again. 🕊️💜

Maaann crazy to think I’m still here waiting for someone to tell me that it’s all fake and it’s not true that my best friend still out here doing his thing man idk I’m still lost in all this like it feels like we where still in hs hanging out after words going to his pool for hrs having him just be throwing me around like a toy then heading back to his house to relax watch movies, tv shows even play games honestly I can thank him for my love of video games playing cod and min craft just building and destroying our own empires hahah god tearing up rn thinking bout that but honestly I’m thankful for him and his family for letting me feel like I was always a part of it going to his house joining him and his brother and sister on lil adventures if it was to help his dad out fix stuff or just going to the storage or his cousins to just help set stuff up for the parties and let me tell you him and his family always made the best tacos even seeing his mom at work for her lunch they always made me feel like I was part of their family and Matt always mad me feel like a brother I know we drifted aways but I know he knows that I’d always cared for him and never stopped carrying for him always gonna be my best friend/brother no doubt
