She was the daughter of Larry Zendejas and Katherine Alva born on March 26, 1959.
Lydia was born in East Los Angeles and grew up in the City of Montebello CA.
She was the beloved mother of 5 children, a grandmother and a great-grandmother.
Lydia was a very hardworking mother, caring, loving and full of life. She enjoyed spending time in the company of her grandchildren and took pride in the family she created.
Lydia was always doing the most for her children throughout her life. Her love towards her family was unconditional.
In 1994 she would meet the love of her life, Gustavo Padilla. Not too long after they would have a daughter together. They were later married March 7, 1998. Then our family of 5 would turn into a blended family of 9. They built a beautiful life together and were inseparable ever since. They loved each other very much and their love was so strong. A few years ago Lydia started to get sick. That would slowly get worse throughout her last years but she kept holding on. She fought so long and so hard and there were so many highs and lows but she remained strong. She was our hero and showed us what it was to be courageous.
Lydia will always be loved and remembered for her concerns, hopes and the advice she spoke of. She leaves behind the best parenting advice even if we didn’t understand it then, we do now. Thank you for being the best you could ever be.
Long live Lydia’s life, love and legacy. We love you Mom, always.
