Lois Pearl (Yoder) Williams, age 101, of Fontana, California. Beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great-Grandmother, and friend peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
She was born in Harper, Kansas on December 1, 1918. Lois was the second daughter of Alvin and Elizabeth Yoder, she had two sisters and two brothers. At the age of 8, she was “saved and born again.” When she was 9 years old Lois and her family moved to the “BlackJacks” near Jet Oklahoma to a family farm. Where she taught herself how to read music and play the piano. People would always ask her how she did that all by herself at 9 years old. She would say. “All I did was supply my HEAD, HEART and HANDS, God did everything else.” Some of her daily chores on the farm were to milk their three cows and iron all the family clothing. Lois said that being raised on the farm is where she formed a lifelong passion for plants, animals and nature. When Lois was around 14 years old, she became the church pianist. This seemed to be the beginning of her whole life doing special things for the community, church and God. After graduating from Jet High School, she worked at Porky’s dinner for a few years as a waitress.
At 23 years old she got married to Harry Preston Williams, known as "Jack." He served in the United States army during World War II, and after the war worked for the Southern California Gas Company for 40 years and was the love of her life. Together with their children, Terry-Jack and Barbara as well as their Boston bulldog named Butch, moved to Lynwood, CA. With Jack by her side, Lois faithfully taught children's church at Lynwood Church of the Nazarene for 40 years. Lois, also started teaching child evangelism through "Good News Club" meetings that she taught from her home as she brought her
amazing story of God’s grace in Jesus Christ and the cross to all that would listen and even some that tried not to listen. God seemed to answer many upon many of her prayers for them. A thousand or so children, women and men that God place in her life and that she placed in her prayers.
In 1981, Jack and Lois relocated to Fontana, CA where they became active members of Bloomington Church of the Nazarene where Lois taught children’s church and pre-school music at Bloomington Christian School.
After 63 years of marriage, her beloved Jack passed away in 1996. She continued to live in her own home. Not a person passed through her doors that she didn’t share God’s love with, whether they wanted to hear it or not. By 2003 she needed someone to help her continue to live in her own home and be well cared for there. She always wanted to pass away in peace at home. At which time her grandson Curtis Terry Williams, his wife and their three daughters dedicated their lives, love, and time to care for her every need 24/7. They often praised her for being a perfect example of a “Good Godly Christian Woman.” All her prayers for them were and continue to be a total blessing. Lois painlessly and peacefully passed away in her own home as she had always wanted, with them by her side.
Lois was a dedicated Christian, with a real love for God, she was a wonderful influence to many and was dearly loved by all. Lois fulfilled her lifelong passion of wining souls to Christ. Lois is survived by; her brother, Adrian Yoder, her daughter Barbara Montgomery and her daughter Darla Montgomery. Her son Terry Williams and his son Curtis Terry Williams and his daughters; Bethany, Chrislene, Roselene, and Genesis as well as their children; Christopher, Liam and Giavanna Williams.
