A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Born on May 4, 1940, in Jalisco, Mexico, Juan peacefully departed this world on December 4, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 84 years old.
Juan was a man of unwavering character, known for his nobility, generosity, and tireless dedication to his family. A gifted and passionate mechanic instructor, he took great pride in sharing his expertise, guiding students, and inspiring those fortunate enough to learn from him. Beyond his professional work, Juan was a devoted man of God who cherished his time at church and exemplified the values of love, faith, and integrity.
With a zest for life that remained vibrant until the end, Juan embraced every opportunity for adventure. He loved to travel, ride his scooter, and spend quality time with his family, creating beautiful and unforgettable memories. A loyal Los Angeles Dodgers fan, he never missed an opportunity to cheer for his favorite team and wore his Dodgers cap with pride.
At the heart of Juan's life was his family. His devotion was evident in every aspect of his life, from his role as a steadfast provider to the countless cherished moments he shared with his loved ones. Whether through heartfelt conversations and stories, shared meals, or simply being present at family events, Juan created lasting memories and built a legacy of love that will be cherished and treasured by those he loved.
Juan is survived by his loving wife, Ana Valdivia, and his children: Sonia/Gilbert Chagolla; Nitza/Agustín Pena; Diane Valdivia; Veronica/Ernesto Calles; Giovanni/Cristina Valdivia; Zayeth Gustafson; Joel Ramos; and Anika/Brandon Nazario.
He also leaves behind his adoring grandchildren: Alex/Jessica Peña; Derick/Desirae Peña; Jacob/Monica Miranda; Analece/Manny Montes; Mia and Elly Calles; Zaven Chagolla; Giovanni, Hannah, Danika, and Khaleesi Valdivia; Chance and Macy Gustafson; Raiden, Eloise, Kai, and Luca Nazario; and his great-grandchildren: Maddox, Jolene, and Quinn Peña; Demi, Dawsyn, and Damon Peña; and Sebastian and Camila Miranda.
Juan's life was a testament to devotion and honor. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the incredible life of this remarkable man. A funeral service will be held on January 14, 2025, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, located at 11342 Spruce Avenue, Bloomington, CA. The service will begin with a rosary at 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Juan will be laid to rest at 12:30 p.m. at Green Acres Memorial Park: 11715 Cedar Avenue, Bloomington, CA, in Section Resurrection 105 A-1.
The family will be hosting a small, private reception following the burial.
