Joey was born in Los Angeles, California on February 18th, 1959. His parents were Roderick and Lily Ornelas. He was raised in Temple City where he attended St. Luke’s Catholic School and graduated from Temple City High School, Class of 1977. He was known as a great athlete in football, wrestling, and boxing.
After high school, Joey quickly became a hard-working entrepreneur. He built multiple successful businesses throughout the years. His interests included riding his Harley and traveling with his beloved wife, Rosie. He loved gardening and growing Plumerias. Most of all, he loved spending quality time with his family and friends.
Joey is preceded in death by his father, Roderick, and his infant son, Jonathan. He is survived by his mother, Lily Ornelas, his brother, Roderick “Roddy” Ornelas. His wife, Rosie Ornelas, and his children Joey, Marisa, Renea, Christina, Ruben, Adrian, and Frankie. He was a devoted “Papa” to his grandchildren Mariah, Danni, Lily, Violet, Daisy, Jaden, Briley, Ryan, Nathan, Audra, Benny, Ella, Lucy, Aubrey, Emily, Ayden, Allison, and Amelia.
Joey was a very generous man. The imprint he left in people’s lives is truly immeasurable. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
A visitation for Joseph will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Green Acres Memorial Park & Mortuary, 11715 Cedar Ave, Bloomington, CA 92316.
