John passed away following a brief illness. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio and a lifetime resident of San Bernardino County, a resident of Yucaipa for the past ten years. John was a graduate of the University of Riverside and California State University San Bernardino. He retired from a career in teaching in 2009. John taught at Yucaipa High School, Bloomington High School and Terrace Hills Jr. High. He continued as a substitute teacher at Yucaipa High School until his passing. John is survived by his wife Vicky, son, Richard and wife Veronica, Step-son James Humble Jr. and family, sister-in-law Kathy Temple and family. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Emma Hawkins. John also leaves many friends and professional colleagues from his many years of teaching, UCLA football and the Porsche Club.
