Demetrio Rocha Reyes (a.k.a. Men) was born in Donna, Texas to Pascual and Cristina Rocha Reyes, where he lived until he was an adult. He then moved to Coachella where he worked as a farm worker and at a cement company. In 1956, Men joined the Army where he spent most of his service working in supplies. He raved about being stationed in Germany and was proud to serve his country. In 1973, he married his current wife, Jennie P. Reyes (a.k.a. Esther), where they have resided together in Fontana for over 50 years. As a veteran, he especially loved when he wore his Army cap and people would thank him for serving his country. He also loved all the perks of getting military discounts at his favorite places. After the Army, Demetrio worked as a cabinet maker and loved to do home improvement projects. He believed in working hard and was kind to everyone. Men loved westerns, politics, Native American history, telling stories and joking around. Men purchased land and built the Reyes Ranch in Joshua Tree where he loved to spend time with family and friends. Family was very important to him, and we continue with that legacy.
Demetrio had 5 siblings, Cesario, Fortino, Isidoro, Antonio and Irene (deceased). Demetrio had 3 children from his first marriage: Javier (deceased), Elsa, and Eduardo. With his current wife, Esther, he also raised 4 additional children: Sally, Carmen, Cyndi, and Lorraine. Demetrio had 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved loyal dog, Honey.
