Alfonso was born August 3, 1933 to Juan & Isabel Lara. He was raised in Casa Blanca. He had 2 brothers, John & Salvador and 2 sisters, Lupe Lunar and Esperanza Milla. His mother passed when he was about 5 years old, his father passed when he was about 13. He was raised by his sister Lupe Lunar and her family. He found love and married our mom Mary in 1958. Together they had 3 children, daughter Vivian, sons Alfonso Jr. & Rene Lara. He worked for the City of Riverside as a garbage man, later a heavy equipment operator, and after the city dump closed, as a street sweeper. Unfortunately, our mom passed in 1980. Even with all this adversity, he kept his faith and plugged along. Never bitter, always compassionate, kind, generous and passed that on to his children and 5 grandchildren, Erica, Melissa, Gina, Michael and Merina. Al met Connie, and they shared their life with his and her family and traveling all over the United States. He retired after 33 years with the City. Connie also passed later in his life. He never met a stranger! He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
