John J. Gonnella

He was born in Newark and has lived in Belleville most of his life. He worked as a butcher / meat manager for several supermarkets and was a member of Local UFCW 464 A.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Zarro Funeral Home, (www.zarrofuneral home.net), 145 Harrison Street, Bloomfield. Visitation will be on Monday, May 25th from 4-8pm. Kindly be at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 26 at 9am prior to a Mass at 10:30am at St. Lucy’s Church, Newark. The burial will be private. Kindly omit flowers.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 49 years, Josephine (Lento) Gonnella; children, Karen Kondel and her husband, Bill, John Gonnella, Jo Ann Behnke and her husband, Marc, and Todd Gonnella; sisters, Michelina Auriemma and Mary Hornlein; cherished grandchildren, Todd J. Gonnella and Giavanna Faith Gonnella.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Daniel, Carmine and Michael Gonnella.
