Angelo Salvatore, 79, of Flemington NJ, passed away on September 1st after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 28th, 1941 in Teora, Italy. He was the son of the late Gerardo and Maria Nicola Salvatore. He emigrated with his family to Newark, NJ in 1958. He returned to Italy briefly to marry his beloved Virginia (Lardieri) in 1964 and eventually settled in Bloomfield where they lived and raised their 3 children before moving to Flemington in 1999. He began his career with factory jobs, then became a licensed barber, before joining the A&P Tea Company where he spent more than 30 years working on the overnight stocking crew until his retirement in 2003. He was a loving family man whose greatest joy was being a Papa and spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife Virginia; his three children Rosemarie Pierre (Kevin) , Gerardo (Lori Martini) and Angelo Jr; and his grandchildren Amanda, Emily and Matthew Salvatore and Jacquelyn and Danielle Pierre. He also leaves behind his sisters Lisa Gallucci and Connie Iannuzzelli , his brother Ralph Salvatore, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his sisters Antoinetta Lardieri , Maria Salvatore and his brother Giulio Salvatore.
Funeral services will be conducted by Zarro Funeral Home, 145 Harrison Street, Bloomfield. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Friday, September 4th from 4pm to 8pm.
Kindly meet at Sacred Heart Church in Bloomfield on Saturday, September 5th at 10am for the Mass. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Angelo’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
