Wyllene Murphree Fausett, age 102, of Roswell, GA passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. She was born in Oneonta, AL and lived in Alabama until she moved to Roswell in 2017 to be near her family.
She graduated from Ensley High School, where she was senior class valedictorian, earned a BA degree cum laude from Birmingham Southern College, and an M.Ed. from Samford University. She loved music, played the violin and viola, and was in the Glee Club and Orchestra at Ensley. She taught six years at Price Elementary School.
Wyllene was preceded in death by her parents Davis Andrew and Fannie Mitchell Murphree; husband, Robert Lee Fausett; son, Robert Andrew Fausett,; and sister, Mozelle Murphree Evans. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Fausett McGreaham and husband John; granddaughter, Caroline McGreaham Rose and husband Brett; and great-grandson Alexander Adair Rose.
She was a longtime member of Hunter Street Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Helena (Church at Old Town) in Alabama. She taught Sunday School for 50 years, sang in the church choir, and was a group leader of WMU. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, England, Ireland and the Holy Land.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Johns Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
