Mar 1, 1938 ~ Aug 25, 2014 Willie "Bo" Davis was born March 1, 1938 to George and Rosa Mae Moorer - Davis in Lowndes county, Alabama. He met and married Rubye Holcombe at an early age. One child was born to this union. Bo accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior while still in his youth. He was a certified electrician, worked for ACIPCO and later worked for General American where he retired after 28 years. After relocating to Birmingham, he joined Twenty Fifth Avenue Baptist Church. Later, he joined with the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church family where he remained until his death. He sang in the mass choir and male chorus. Bo loved fishing and hunting. He excelled at both. He was a loving husband and father. He adored his granddaughters and loved his family. He was known as a humble and soft spoken man who said what he meant and meant what he said. His parents preceded him in death. Bo leaves to cherish his memories, a loving wife, Rubye Davis; one son, Dennis Davis(Pamela) Birmingham; two grandchildren, Kenya Davis (Mobile) and Kayla Davis (Birmingham); two sisters, Annie (James) Cunningham and Louiza (Kitt) Green, both of Birmingham. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Leora Holcombe, two sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law; a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and his church family, whom he loved very much. His brother, David Davis and his sister, Evelyn Dykes preceded him in death. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 at Mt. Hebron Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Ridout's Elmwood Chapel is directing.
