Willie Jean Bevis

Willie Jean Lang Bevis lost her battle with Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS) on April 1, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband William Larry Bevis and her daughter Amy (Doy) Dabbs. She is survived by her children: Lisa (Ron) Kimbrough, Sherri Alexander, Dana (J.R.) Howell, and Dalton Bevis. Her grandchildren: Quinton Kimbrough, Brandon Dabbs, Jessica Dabbs. Sister Mary Sue Glidewell and brother Raymond Bobby Lang. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her and she will be missed by many. She was retired from Bellsouth, and was employed by Dr Tom Vaughan (child psychiatry), the Alabama Ballet, and UAB's VA hospital where she retired at 63 following her husband's sudden death in 2006. At her request, no services will be held. Special gratitude to our hospice nurse and case manager, Shannon Gandy for taking such excellent care of our Mother at the end of her life. The family would like to express their gratitude to this organization for their support and resources. Special thank you to Alysia Rafalsky with ALS, who has been tremendously helpful and supportive to our family.
