William Raymond (W.R.) Collier, Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on June 30, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Breezie Collier; his two daughters, Pam Slovensky (Don) and Shannan Nichols (John); 4 grandchildren, Ryan Slovensky (Natalie), Mark Slovensky (Chelsea), Emily Merritt, and Amanda Merritt; 4 great-grandchildren, Hudson, Gloria, John Domit, and Mills Slovensky; a sister, Barbara Jean Jackson (Stan); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Sarah Collier, and his grandson, Tyler Merritt. He worked for over 35 years as a Dental Technician in Birmingham, Alabama. He was a long time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 972 Aerie. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiast and was no stranger in his younger years to Lassiter Mountain Dragway. He enjoyed Nascar and playing cards with friends, and especially loved spending time and holidays with his family and watching his great-grandchildren grow and play. He also loved his dog and best friend, Harley. Husband, Dad, Father-In-Law, PawPaw, Brother, Uncle, and Friend, he will be greatly missed by many. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 6, at 10:00am at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home followed by a graveside service and burial at 11:00am at Elmwood Cemetery.
