Wallace Alfred McCord was born June 13,1952 to Milton Wallace McCord and Minnie May McCord. He graduated from West End High School in Birmingham in May of 1970. Wally entered the US Navy in September of 1972 and was honorably discharged in September of 1974. On August 28, 1979 he received a BA from Auburn University and worked as a professional geologist until retiring in 2020.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother Milton Wallace McCord and Minnie May McCord and his sister Mary Grace Shaw. He is survived by his brother James Hanby McCord and two sons Owen Wallace and David Claybourne.
Wally was a fanatical Auburn fan until his last day.
