

Violet Brown Todd, age 91, of Hoover, Alabama stepped into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on August 22, 2024. Born December 21, 1932, in Anderson, Alabama, Violet lived in Alabama her entire life. She married Alton Todd, in 1955, and lived in the Birmingham area. In 1965 they moved to the Glen Oaks community in Fairfield where they raised their children and shared many treasured memories. As empty nesters they moved to Hoover. No matter where she lived, she brought joy into the lives of all those around her.
Violet, a long-time member of Midfield First Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Hoover, was known for her kind heart and giving spirit. Everyone who knew her knew she loved Jesus, her family, and friends.
Violet worked for 30 Years for AT&T and BellSouth, holding various positions in the company.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Ettie (Brackeen) Brown and husband, Alton C. Todd; siblings, Coy Brown, Syble Brown Snider, Dennis Brown, and Ruby Brown Siniard. Violet is survived by her children, Tommy (Nancy) Todd of Spring Hill, Tennessee, Judy (Jerry) Davis of McCalla, Alabama, and Traci (Riley) Adair of Vestavia Hills, Alabama. Violet will be greatly missed by her 4 grandchildren, Rachel Todd (Andrew) Seay, Dalton Adair, Chase Adair, and Mary Grace Davis (Dalton) Bartlett, her 2 great-grandchildren, Sarah and Anna Seay, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel (800 Dennison, Ave. SW, Birmingham, Ala.) Saturday, August 24 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. With Celebration of Life Service immediately following at 2:30 p.m with Rev. Eric Roberts and Rev. Randy Atkinson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Hoover or Meals on Wheels.
