Tom Lee Crowe passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019; he was 78 years old. Tom lived most of his life in Birmingham, Alabama. He grew up in the Trussville area and educated in the Jefferson County School System. He attended Hewitt Trussville High School and graduated with honors in 1958. Tom received a full scholarship to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa for his academic excellence. In 1963 he graduated with a degree in Business and Accounting. Tom moved to Woodlawn where he was known as an active member of the Woodlawn/Eastlake Community Association. He served on numerous boards. He was an advocate for Outreach Ministries. Tom loved helping others. He worked briefly for Progressive Farmers and Southern Living before branching out as an entrepreneur. Tom was the CEO and Lead Accountant for Tom L. Crowe Accounting and Income Tax Service in Birmingham, Alabama, and Crestview, Florida. He attended Auburn University yearly for continued education. Tom was the son of Lillian and Austin Crowe, who preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory a brother Emil Crowe, nephews, Jeffery Michael (Denise) Crowe, and Mark Brandon (Tami) Crowe, a niece, Deborah Crowe-Vannatta; great-nephews and nieces, Logan Vannatta, Brianna Crowe, Jake Crowe, Brandon Crowe, Kaiya Allison, Stormy Cook and Rivers Cook, a sister-n-law Mary (Zane) Ferguson, and a god-daughter Regina Coleman. He also leaves behind his extended family: Barbara Liston, Marilyn Reynolds, True Vine Church and Ministries, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Saturday, March 30, 2019, from 12 pm - 2 pm, with a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm. The family requests donations in Tom’s memory be made to The Lovelady Center. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Lovelady Center- Ms. Brenda Lovelady Spahn, Josie (), Lisa Lowe, Lori McLemore and Stephanie Smith for the care, love and kindness shown to Tom and their family, also the staff at St. Vincent’s East, and the University of Alabama Birmingham Medical Center.
