Thomas Earl Williams Birmingham, AL, entered his earthly life on 4/14/29. Joined God, family and friends in Heaven on April 16, 2017. He was born in Brookwood AL. to Henry Petty and Johnnie Manning Williams. He grew up in the Springhill community in Pickens County, AL and graduated from Carrollton High School. Tom spent 57 years in the retail furniture business in Birmingham.
Married to Mary Jean Rogers Williams 7/15/1949. Tom and Jean had four children, Tommy (Becky), Bruce (Connie), Gwen Tatum (Joe), and Rosemary Robinson (Larry). Tom also had six grandsons, Nathanael Williams (Jennifer), Thomas Marrs, Scott Robinson (Rebecca), Christopher Robinson (Sadie), Craig Robinson (Jenny), and Chris McGorty, two great grandchildren, Kendall Williams and Owen Robinson. He had five brothers and six sisters, seven of which have preceded him in death. The most important thing that people will remember about Tom is his commitment to Christ and to his spiritual life and to those he came to love through his service in the church. Tom last attended Huffman Baptist Church. He served as a deacon for 60+ years. Tom was beloved by his children, family and friends. His kind sweet spirit will be forever missed.
We would like to say a special thank you to our Aunt, Virginia Milstead, who lived with our Dad for the past five years and helped us to comfort and care for him daily. Also, a special thank you to the staff at Expectcare Hospice who assisted in his care.
The family will receive friends Tuesday April 18, 2017 from 11:00 – 1:00 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Forest Crest Cemetery.
