Thomas “Tom” D. Britt, Sr., went home to be with the Lord on the morning of October 12, 2022. Tom was born to I.D. and Lorene Britt on February 26, 1936.
He was a loving family man who loved his wife of 67 years deeply. Tom was a graduate of the University of Alabama and was an avid Alabama fan. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He loved decorating for the holidays and he always had a way of making Halloween and Christmas magical for his kids and grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, I.D. Britt and Lorene Acker Britt. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Mickey L. Britt; children, Debra Britt, David Britt, and Donna Clayton (Mike); 3 grandchildren, Brooke McCreless (Clint), Brittany Clayton, and Kristen Britt; and 1 great-granddaughter, Blakely Rose.
Friends and family are cordially invited to celebrate Tom’s life and legacy at John-Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 12 pm in the Maple Room. A graveside service will follow at 2pm at Elmwood Cemetery Mausoleum.
