Sandra Ann Stanford Usher White, age 75, of Warrior, Alabama passed away peacefully on January 28, 2019, in Birmingham, Alabama. Born in Enterprise, Alabama, on December 26,1943, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Lewie F. and Lillian Stanford. She is preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Henry L. Usher, of Orlando, Florida. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, John W. White, of Warrior, Alabama; her sons, Dwayne Smith and Henry “Hank” Usher III; her daughter, Angela (Mike) Smith Gunter; her grandchildren, Dr. Michael (Elaina) Gunter, Kristin (Carson) Hinton, and Henry “Lane” Usher IV; her great-grandchildren Emma and J.T. Hinton, and little Millie Gunter; her children, Johnny (Dawn) White, Michael (Tammy) White, Tommy (Joan) White, and Gene (Kay) White; her brother, Danny (Vicki) Stanford; her sisters, Genny (Jerry) Jenkins, and Melissa (Mark) Moore; her White family of grandchildren and great grandchildren; her Usher family of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her many nieces and nephews - all of which she loved like her own. She was a faithful member of Love’s Crossing Church of God in Trafford, Alabama, where she taught Sunday school for her Seniors class, and where she served as Leader of the Young at Heart Seniors Group. She was a graduate of Carroll High School in Ozark, Alabama, where she started her first job as a telephone operator at the Bell Company in 1961. She retired from Sonoco Products Company of Orlando, Florida in 1996, and for 20 years was a cherished member of the Gunter Oil family in Trussville, Alabama. She raised her family in Springville, Alabama, and Orlando, Florida, before moving to her home in Warrior, Alabama. She was a gifted singer and musician, playing piano and singing for her church congregations and family. Cooking was her love language, and she was widely known for her chicken and dressing as well as her famous butternut cake. Her husband, John, was her best friend and she found joy in caring for him as much as he loved caring for her. She was extremely devoted to her husband and children, and delighted in being a grandmother. She deeply loved her family, friends and her church, where she will be remembered for her exceptionally kind spirit and giving heart.
