Samuel E. Artale, age 94, of Hayden, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on Monday April 13, 2020. Samuel was born February 16, 1926, to Anthony Artale and Josephine Capri Artale. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Josie Artale; his wife, Wanda Seale Artale; his brothers, Chris Artale and Vincent Artale; and his sister, Annie Artale Lorino. He is survived by his children, Mark Artale and Josephine Artale Clements (Sonny); step-children, Karen Brock (Tony), Bonnie Horsley (Bill), and Suzanne Hollis (Tom); grand children, Nick Artale, Dana Clements, and Todd Clements; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, JoAnna Artale Kichen (John), Josephine Artale D'Amico (Vincent), and nephew, Anthony Artale.
Sam served in the Army during WWII during the Battle of the Bulge. He loved his country and was very patriotic. He retired from Pemco Aircraft. However, if you knew him, you knew he never truly retired. He and his wife remained busy throughout their "retirement". He loved gardening and was an avid animal lover. His Pomeranian, GiGi was his constant companion until his passing.
A service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 11 am. Due to the concerns surrounding Covid-19, and in compliance with city & county ordinances gatherings of 10 or more are prohibited and social distance is required.
