Sally Haralson Watts, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, of Birmingham, Alabama, died peacefully on October 24, 2022, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her mother Marie Trimble and her father Henry Haralson of Birmingham, Alabama. She is survived by her children Cecelia Watts, Philip Watts (Frances), Melanie Watts; grandchildren, William and Jenny Watts; sister Linda Vernon and friend Peter Walsh, all of Birmingham and sister Katy Wiles (Dennis) of Denver, Colorado; family friend Steve Oliver and many other family and friends.
Sally was a lifelong Catholic and devoted member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
She graduated from Ramsay High School and Auburn University, where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She received her Master's degree in Health Education from UAB.
Sally worked as a school teacher at OLS, as a court reporter and in social services at United Way. Sally loved helping people, was an avid reader and loved the arts. She was full of life and laughter and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1728 Oxmoor Rd, Homewood, AL 35209, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. There will be a reception immediately following the Mass in the Family Life Center at the church. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
