Ronald McKinley was born December 7, 1949 to Willie C. and Minnie Foster McKinley. He confessed Christ at an early age under the pastorate of the late James N. Graves, Pastor of Ensley Bible Church; which is now New Covenant Bible Church, pastored now by Julian R. Davis.
Ronald was a graduate of Ullman High School and he briefly attended Tuskegee University. At the time of his passing, Ron was a resident of the “Special Forces For Jesus” home, where he had many great caregivers who loved and cared for him during the time he lived there. They included: Elizabeth Givan (Director), Pastor Sherry Conner, Jr, Irene Hayes, Sharetha hayes, Kiawana East, and Dr. Evelyn Conner, to name a few.
After his mom, Minnie Dial passed in January 2018, he was left in the overseeing care of a longtime family friend, Lawyer Charlie Beavers, who made sure Ron was well taken care of and his needs were met; which included working a long side Ron’s family doctor, Dr. Tom Edwards, who not only cared for Ron’s physical needs, but his spiritual needs as well. They ministered to Ron and up held Ron in their prayers.
Ron leaves to mourn his passing a host of cousins, and other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Ronald will be held Monday, August 28, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Johns-Ridout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Ave Sw, Birmingham, AL 35211, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
