Robert A. Burney, age 91 of Birmingham passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. He was a long time member of Edgewood Presbyterian Church and retired from Union Carbide. Bob was a US Army Veteran and was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Thomson Burney. He is survived by a son, Robert T. Burney; sister-in-law: Joyce Thomson and family; and many friends. Bob was most appreciative of his church family and the care he received from the Colonel Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home in Pell City. His service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2020 at Elmwood Cemetery Mausoleum. Pastor Joe Genau is officiating.
