Reuben Hayes Brasher

Brasher, Reuben Hayes, born December 6, 1930 died October 12, 2011. He is survived by his spouse of fifty-five years, Ms. Rachel Austin Brasher; their daughter and son-in-law, The Rev. Dr. Ginger and The Rev. Mr. Milton Brasher-Cunningham; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. Mr. Brasher was a beloved greeter and life deacon of First Baptist Church Irondale, spent his work years at Farmbest Dairies and Golden Flake, was a devoted fan of Alabama Football and the Boston Red Sox and a lover of dogs (particularly schnauzers) The youngest of ten, he was a hospitable, faith-filled person of integrity who died after a well lived life. Visiting hours will be Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 12- 1 pm and the funeral service will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association of Alabama, First Baptist Church of Irondale, AL or Pilgrim United Church of Christ, Durham, NC.
