He was born in Birmingham Alabama and raised in Fairmont. He retired from Nextran where he was a diesel mechanic. He was preceded in death by daughter Sheenolyn; his parents Odis and Virginia Isbell; his brother David Isbell; and sister Shirley Sizemore. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sheila; his children Karen, Jimmy, Shelby, Christina and Felicia; 13 Grandchildren and 1 Great grandchild; his brother Carl and wife Cathy, his brother Gene and wife Lorene; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a wonderful husband,daddy,Poppie,Papa, brother and friend. Outside of his salvation, Family was the greatest gift The Lord gave him. He always said as long as we are together that’s all that matters.
He was an Alabama football fan and enjoyed watching the games with family. He was always willing to help anybody.His smile was bigger than life.His motto in life was to love first and if you can’t be anything ..Be kind !
A visitation for Ray Isbell will be held on Tuesday, November 21, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM in the Chapel at Ridout's Trussville Chapel with Bro. Jeff Parrish officiating.
