Perry Cox Sr.

COX, PERRY EUGENE, SR., age 90, of Sterrett, AL, went to be with The Lord Friday, March 22, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne Frakes Cox. He is survived by his son, Perry Eugene Cox, Jr. (Kathleen C.); daughters, Shirley Cox Wise (William “Buddy”), Debra Cox McCurdy (Richard H.) and Jennie Jo Cox Parrish (Jim); 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Perry was a member of Huffman Baptist Church for 39 years and currently a member of Beulah Baptist Church and had served as Chairman of the Deacons in both churches. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and served as the Chief Pharmacist and Administrator of Carraway Methodist Medical Center. After retiring, Perry served on the Board of Directors at Carraway for many years. He served as past President of the Alabama Pharmaceutical Association, Alabama Hospital Association, and Southeastern Hospital Association. His family will receive friends on Monday, March 25, 2013 from 5-7 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. He will also lie-in-state on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 10-11 at Beulah Baptist Church in Sterrett with the service beginning at 11, Rev. Earl Hardy officiating. Burial will follow at Sterrett Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a love offering to Beulah Baptist Church will be appreciated.
