Peggy Jean Morgan Oden

Peggy Jean Morgan Oden, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 11, 2022 while living with her son in Gastonia. She was raised in Chalkville, Alabama and was born on July 26, 1935 and is the daughter of the late Julius S. Morgan and Mary Lou Yarbrough Morgan. She resided in Pinson, Alabama for 66 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Lindsey Oden.

Peggy retired as a Secretary with the United States Labor Department and she also was a Clerk with Southern Railway. She was a lifetime member of Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, Birmingham, Alabama.

Peggy was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and she will truly be missed by so many.

Peggy is survived by her son, Jay Oden; granddaughters, Rebecca, Kathryn and Emily Oden; daughter-in-law, Milette Acton Oden.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy., Birmingham, Alabama with a Graveside Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery, Birmingham, Alabama.
