Peggy Crabtree Batcheler

PEGGY CRABTREE BATCHELER, age 91 of Birmingham, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, George C. Batcheler, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Ginger Kisela (John); son, Chet Batcheler (Freida); brothers, Eugene Crabtree and Fred Crabtree (Sue); sister, Joann Patterson; grandchildren, Christopher Batcheler (Fallon), Andrew Kisela (Gennifer), Michelle Varnell (Daniel), Jakob Kisela (Kristina) and Katelyn Wingate (Nick); and 10 great-grandchildren. Peggy was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. She moved to Birmingham in February of 1950. Peggy attended the School of Nursing at Baptist Hospital, now Ida V. Moffat School of Nursing at Samford University. She enjoyed a long career as a Registered Nurse in the Birmingham area retiring in 1977. Peggy lived a life of service to the community through church, school and volunteering through the years at Fair Haven Retirement Community. Her family will celebrate her life with visitation from 10-11 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Saturday, May 1, 2021 with her service beginning at 11:00. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
