Peggy was born on July 21st, 1935, in Homewood, Alabama. She was raised by a loving mother along with her siblings Bobby McNutt and Sue Sumner, who preceded her in death, and a sister (Betty McGowan) and brother (Larry Thomas), who survive her.
She met the love of her life, William Henry Adams, Jr., in 1956 when they both worked at University Hospital in Birmingham. They married on December 21, 1957 and had four sons; Bill (married to Tita, living in Harlingen, Texas), Matt (married to Ruth, living in Lilburn, Georgia), Rusty (married to Julie, living in Hoover, Alabama) and Mark (married to Tracy, living in Alabaster, Alabama).
Peggy loved and spoiled her nine grandchildren; Billy, John Henry, Amy, Matthew, Callie, Zachary, Sumner, Will and Sidney, and adored her four great grandchildren; Cory, Willow, Ryser and Hazel.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, “Big Bill”.
A private graveside ceremony with direct family members will be held at Elmwood Cemetery and the family respectfully requests that, instead of flowers, charitable donations be made to the Bluff Park United Methodist Church in Hoover to support the Food Pantry and the “Bundles of Hope” diaper ministry for needy children.
