Pauline Sawyer Huckeba

Pauline Sawyer Huckeba of Birmingham, AL passed away November 25, 2012, at the age of 91. She is survived by three children: David (Karen), Lanese Dockery (David), Paul (Vickie); seven grandchildren: Scott Huckeba, Mark Huckeba, Jon Dockery, Ben Dockery, Tim Dockery, Ashley Huckeba, and Austin Huckeba; five great grandchildren: Abigail Dockery, Emma Dockery, Hazel Dockery, Sadie Huckeba, Will Huckeba; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, William A. "Shorty" Huckeba. She was born to the late Charles Forrest and Margaret Lena (Jones) Sawyer. She had four brothers and two sisters, all of whom preceded her in death. She was a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church, Lydia Sunday school class, and Union Auxiliary of Union University in Jackson, TN. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved to cook, sew, and share these gifts with others. The family will receive visitors at 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Elmwood Chapel followed by the funeral at 3:00pm with Dr. David Dockery officiating and committal service to follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Dr. Buddy Gray officiating. Acting as pallbearers are: Scott Huckeba, Mark Huckeba, Jon Dockery, Ben Dockery, Tim Dockery, Austin Huckeba, and Tim Dunston. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hunter Street Baptist Church, 2600 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, Al 35244.
