Paul passed away November 29, 2014. He was born January 7, 1928. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Fernanda Sautel Berthon.
Paul graduated from Pratt City Grammar School, Ensley High School, and Auburn University. His college career was interrupted by his stent in the army. He served in the army eighteen months. He was stationed at Ft. McClellan, AL. and Camp Stoneman, CA. He was a Staff Sargent in the Korean Peace Occupation where he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the Overseas Medal. After his tour of duty he returned to Auburn where he received his B.S. degree in Industrial Management. He was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity.
He worked at Butler Mfg. Company for 37 years. He was the Senior Sales Consultant and was awarded the Top Salesman award six different years. During those years he was active in the Birmingham City Salesmen Club, The Downtown Action Committee and the Junior Achievement Club. He was an active member of Green Valley Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Lila Mae Stacey Berthon and daughter Renee Griffin (Dan), Sons Paul Stacey Berthon (Linda), and Bruce Berthon (Julie) and sister Elise Berthon, and nine grandchildren, Stacia Griffin Berryhill (Carl), Brent Griffin (Lauren), Kendall Griffin Hill (Andrew), Grace Griffin Prentice (Sam), Laura Berthon, Kelsey Berthon, Lindsey Berthon, Anna Berthon, and Paul Donald Berthon, and 5 great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation at Elmwood Chapel December 4, 2014 from 10 -11 am and a Chapel service at 11 am. In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations to their favorite charity in honor of Paul Berthon.
