Nellie Frances Brown McCrary

Nellie Frances Brown McCrary born on January 1, 1921, passed away at the age of 98 on July 5, 2019. She was born in Pell City, Alabama but resided in Pinson, Alabama. She was an active church member at Central Baptist Church in Tarrant, Alabama, and then at Central Baptist Church in Argo, Alabama. Currently, she was attending Palmerdale Cross Baptist Church in Pinson, Alabama.

She was a faithful Christian, who always went to church when the doors were open, and a true example of what it means to be a follower of Christ. She had a servant’s heart, who was always caring for others and seeing to their needs. She is preceded in death by her parents Earnest and Ossie Freeman, her sister Christine, and her brothers E.P., DeMont, and Jack. Also, her late husband’s Robert Brown and Bill McCrary. She has three children, the late Judy Alexander, Jane Madonia (Ralph), and Stewart Brown (Angie), stepdaughter Reba West (the late Leonard West), and her late stepson Steve McCrary. Grandchildren are Jennifer Peoples (Randy), Jeff Wisner (Kris), Shelly Abott, Nicole Toloczko, Alex Keys (Galen), Spencer Brown, Nicholas Brown, Mark Maddox, Hugh Maddox, Michael Maddox, and Robert Etter, and step-grandchildren Danny West, Donny West (Cathy), and Kris Gutherie (Scott). Also, numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will receive guests at the visitation on July 10, 2019, from 1:00-2:00 p.m., with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m. at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Graveside services will be immediately following at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
