Michael L Wood

Michael "Woody" Lee Wood was born in Birmingham, AL and passed away December 18, 2016. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma; father, Bobby and brother, Glen. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie, and his sons, M. Lee Wood (Tara) and Mica Brickell (Kim); sister, Lynne Sims (Jimmy); father- in-law, Roy Self (Sarah); precious granddaughters, Caylin and Cambria and a host of special nieces and nephews. A beloved photographer and founder of Creative Portraits Inc., whose passion for children was evidenced by his ability to capture the essence of childhood in his portraiture. Mike was blessed with a caring spirit and humorous disposition. Music was in his DNA, literally. With a love for the drums and soul for melody, Mike found meaning in his life through music. He found joy in boating, skiing and swimming with his family. Also, he and his wife Connie were thoroughbred enthusiasts and enjoyed many equestrian adventures. Mike was a member of New Covenant Fellowship in Pinson for ten years. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday December 22, 2016 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel at 2:00 -3:00 P.M. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
