Michael L. “Boogar” Walters, age 60, of Odenville, Alabama passed away on September 2, 2012 at home after a long illness. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Anna and Raymond Walters. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a Foreman Operator for Norfolk-Southern Railroad for almost 33 years.
He was preceded in death by his children, Stacy Walters and Kenneth Walters. He is survived by his wife, Joyce “Jo” Walters; brothers, David Walters (Gerie) of Virginia and Tim Walters (Debbie) of Georgia; sister, Hettie Self (Clyde) of Morris, Alabama; special friend, Betty Yeager of Odenville, Alabama; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family wishes to thank Lakeside Hospice and their sweet nurses, and all his wonderful friends and family for their support.
Boogar loved people, whether grilling for them or making them laugh. He was generous, loving, had a wonderful zest for life, and he will be greatly missed.
