MELBA COOK DAVIS, age 101, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Davis; brother, William Cook; and sisters, Odell Weaver and Alice Hynds. She is survived by her son, William L. Davis, Sr. (Karen); grandchildren, William L. Davis, Jr. (Elaine), Michelle Stafford, Robert Rothe, Heidi Jackson (Shawn) and Shawn Davis (Kristy); 9 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren. Melba enjoyed a long career in retail at Loveman’s and Pizitz. She was a longtime member of 50th Street Baptist Church and was a member of several religious and civic organizations. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 11-12 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with her service beginning at 12:00.
