Mary Imogene Weston

Mary I. Weston of Sandusky passed away at the age of 84 in Waterloo, Alabama, peacefully at home. She is survived by Joey and Laura Weston, 4 grandchildren, Brandi and Shane; Les and Justy; Jon and Carrie; and Katie and Chad; 7 great grandchildren, Hannah Claire, Wyatt, Cooper, Everett, Grady, Olivia Kate, and Connor; sisters in-law, Betty and Renae; brother in-law, Delaine and Betty; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary enjoyed reading, crocheting, working puzzles, and spending time at the beach. She most especially loved her family and her Lord. She was a faithful member of the Sandusky Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Stars.

Pallbearers will be Les Weston, Shane Miller, Jon Weston, Chad Powell, Edward Perkins, Steve Zales, Raymond Burnett; and Russell Thomas, and Anthony Weston. Dr. Jim Auchmuty will officiate the service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe E. Weston, Sr.; daughter, Anita Marie Weston Gray; sisters, Glenda Sweatman and husband Jim, Lavelle Burnett, Robbie Perkins and husband, Carnis, Margie Zales and husband Tommy; brothers, Raymond Burnett and wife Euline, Gurley Burnett; sisters in-law, Virginia Franklin and husband, Deward, Zettie Atkinson and husband, Bill, Mae Rose Chafin; brothers in-law, Will Weston and wife, Dottie, Johnnie Weston and his wife, Manny, Jimmy Weston and wife, Bessie, Terrial Elliott, and Ron Tennyson; and special friends Don and Odell Thomas, Charles and Maraletha Oakley, and Tinie Muse.

A visitation will be held Monday, December 9, 2024 from 1pm until 2pm at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 2pm at Elmwood Cemetery.
